The science is moving quickly. The focus on mutant huntingtin lowering therapies is accepted as the best way to deal with Huntington disease. We heard from several scientists working hard to achieve that. This is an exciting time. Science is moving quickly and we need to be ready.
Congratulations to Claudia Hung! Claudia works in Dr. Ray Truant’s lab and her research was chosen as one of the top three poster submissions* of 97 submitted. Her research was funded by the Huntington Society of Canada. This is a significant recognition by top researchers in HD.
Recently I ventured to Peterborough’s ReFrame Film Festival to introduce The Lion’s Mouth Opens, an honest film about a young woman’s HD mutation genetic testing journey. Today it was my pleasure to meet Marianna Palka, the subject and star of the documentary. Marianna is a courageous individual who is making a difference.
