2021 NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK – PROFILES

Lisa Pollock – Weyburn, SK

Lisa has always been a bright, welcoming presence who pours her heart into giving back to the community, working tirelessly as the Social Media Coordinator for Young People Affected by Huntington Disease (YPAHD). Whether it’s staying on top of messages, creating content, or moderating monthly talks, Lisa puts in an incredible amount of work on top of her very busy life and never asks for any recognition or thanks. Lisa’s fun, smart, caring, inclusive, and creative nature also makes each YPAHD Day a truly great time. Lisa always bring a special something to any HD activity she’s involved in, from running her online auction to fundraise to attending conferences and being a counsellor at HDYO camps. Her enthusiasm, dedication and positive energy are always great to see.

Lisa has also been a part of the mentorship program and has reached and helped so many young people in the community. Lisa’s compassion and dedication in serving others does not go unnoticed, and in her final year as a YPAHD member, many people felt she deserved recognition for her outstanding contributions to YPAHD.
