Monday night’s show in Vancouver marked the farthest point of the Let’s Boogie Tour raising awareness about Huntington disease (HD). After some adventures with broken van windows and a few band members having their belongings stolen (our guitarist Nathanial decided he had too many clothes anyway), we were joined by another great crowd of HD community members, and even some of our favorite HD researchers. Big thanks to Dr. Jeff Carroll, Dr. Ed Wild, Dr. Nick Caron, and Dr. Austin Milnerwood for coming out to see us play.
And an even bigger thanks to all Huntington Society Chapter volunteers and HD community members who have helped us throughout the tour by putting up posters, helping us find places to stay, filling the venues, and connecting us with the media. With your help, we’ve managed to stir up some attention about HD in the press (Winnipeg folks stay tuned for a radio interview on CKUW 95.9 FM Friday April 22 at 5pm, CDT), bringing awareness about HD to music fans across the country who may not have otherwise known about the disease. What’s more, we’ve had a chance to spend time with many fine folks from the HD community across the country. Thank you all so much for coming out to the shows, what a great way to create a buzz and a sense of community. And we couldn’t have done it without support from the Huntington Society of Canada. Thank you!
And now, back to the long road home. Remaining tour dates can be found on our website.
