We just completed 2 weeks or 325 km of our amazing adventure on the Camino de Santiago. Our best night was last night in a little town of Hornillos. We stayed at fabulous “Casa Rural” (which happened to be in the movie called The Way) called “El Molino”. It is a simple 300 year old farm house with a water mill running under the house.
The owner, a sweet little Spanish lady, came to pick us up in town to drive us out to the country and she drives like a F1 Indy driver. They had a beautiful terrace where we met more pilgrims. The best ever homemade pilgram dinner was served as tapas of chorizo, cheese, prosciutto, large fried peppers, with a main pork tenderloin dish and finishing with coffee flavoured ice cream bars. Of course abundant amounts of delicious red wine was served with the meal.
We rolled away from the table and headed to bed as we had an early start planned for the morning. No bunks tonight but private rooms and private bathrooms. What a treat!!! After a good night sleep we hit the racetrack again for a very quick trip into town to hit the trail. Buen Camino!!!
